You know a few of these elements in injection molds.
Injection molds can be divided into parting surfaces, structural parts, mold accuracy, mold accuracy, gating system, plastic shrinkage and factors that affect product dimensional accuracy. Let's take a look!
1. Parting surface: the contact surface between the injection mold and the punch when it is closed. The choice of its position and form is affected by factors such as product shape and appearance, wall thickness, forming method, post-processing process, mold type and structure, demolding method and forming machine structure.
2. Structural parts: the slider, inclined top and straight top of complex mold. The design of structural parts is very critical, related to the life of the product, processing cycle, cost, product quality and so on. Therefore, the design of complex mold core structure requires the comprehensive ability of designers, and try their best to pursue simpler, more durable and more economical design solutions.
3. Mold accuracy: avoid card, positioning, guide post, positioning pin, etc. The positioning system is related to the appearance quality of the product, the quality of the mold and the life of the mold. According to the different mold structure, choose different positioning methods. The control of the positioning accuracy mainly depends on the processing. The positioning of the internal mold is mainly considered by the designer, and a more reasonable and easy-to-adjust positioning method is designed.
4. Gating system: that is, the feeding channel of the injection molding machine from the nozzle to the cavity, including the main runner, branch runner, gate and cold cavity. In particular, the selection of the gate position is conducive to filling the cavity with molten plastic in a good flow state, and when the mold is opened (except for the hot runner mold), the solid runner and the gate cold material attached to the product can be easily removed from the mold.
5. Plastic shrinkage and factors affecting product dimensional accuracy: such as injection mold manufacturing and assembly errors, mold wear, etc. In addition, when designing compression molds and injection molds, the matching of process parameters and structural parameters of the molding machine should also be considered.
